ATLANTA -- Fernbank Museum of Natural History is getting ready to kick off its 97 Days of Play series of summertime events.

The fun begins on Saturday, May 31, when the museum will host an Island Adventure Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Children who attend Island Adventure Day can learn all about the animals who live in exotic locations around the world. Live animals, including lemurs, will help kids understand more about Madagascar; Fernbank is currently hosting the IMAX film Island of Lemurs: Madagascar.

Other scheduled activities include a DJ spinning island tunes, a shell scavenger hunt, limbo and hula-hoop contests, and a craft that allows children to make their own fish scales out of colorful tissue paper.

Island Adventure Day is free to attend for Fernbank members and included in admission price for non-members. Learn more at fernbankmuseum.org.
